Sources
Sources organize transactions into logical groups, enabling powerful bookkeeping automation.
When establishing a connection to Digits, an integration may provide access to multiple accounts worth of data. For example, a bank connection may wish to sync checking and savings accounts.
Sync Sources for every distinct stream of data within a connection. For example, for each credit card at an issuer; for each bank account at a bank; each virtual card issued by an expense management platform; or distinct accounts for bills and invoices from a bill-pay provider.
Establishing separate sources allows for different bookkeeping configurations. Continuing the example, a checking account is best mapped to a different category in the chart of accounts than a savings account.
Each source provides a unique set of Category Labels, allowing for independent control of AI Categorization hints and category mappings.
Users can configure historical import limits for each source, allowing imported data to be reflected in the Ledger only after a certain date. This control is a unique benefit of Digits' source architecture - data written via the API remains intact within the source, allowing users to reconfigure historical import settings as necessary.
